Burp Cloths

Ok, yes, babies burp up. Some burp up a lot, but in this house burp cloths were a complete waste of money.  Yes, we bought some adorable, soft and expensive burp cloths and they even got occasional use. We also bought swaddlers, blankets and a pack of 10 wash cloths for $4 at Home Goods.  They all get used as burp cloths too.

Fisher-Price Discover 'N Grow Kick and Play Piano Gym

It's annoying, it's bright, it's plastic, it's noisy and of course Sierra loves it.  We got this a gift from a couple of my husbands coworkers.  My first thought was we don't need another play mat, we have one that is plush, adorable and doesn't make noise(more on that mat later). Sure enough, she loves it and when you need to entertain a 5 month old for 10 minutes so you can take a shower this mat is awesome. Even if it mean listening to little bunny foo foo 1000 times. Its getting to the end of its life span though, at 7 months Sierra pulls up to a standing position on it and when she puts her weight on it the entire thing tilts. Yikes! It was great for 3-4 months though. The price ranges on this mat from $35-$50 depending on where you buy it and for your 10 minutes of peace and quiet a day $35 is worth it, $50 eh, not so much-it is after all kind of an eyesore.

Dr Browns Glass Bottles

I feel like half my day consists of washing bottles and all the little parts that go with them.  I love these bottles for two reasons.  First, they are glass which makes me feel better about knowing that there is no chance of plastic leaching in to Sierras breast milk, second, Sierra never really spit up much so I think they do what they say they will. So far, I haven't had any break(knock on wood) and we bought a few of the silicone sleeves for when Sierra can hold the bottle herself. Expensive, yes and a pain to clean, absolutely but all in all worth it.

Blames Ikea High Chair

At $59.99 this high chair is a deal but its not without its flaws. I love its modern, simple style, basic red wood frame and its not monstrous like some chairs on the market are. We love it but the tray doesn't come off easily.  So, we wipe it down but it doesn't really get a good scrubbing which is a bummer.  Also, not that Sierra stays in it for very long in a stretch, but its not very ergonomic. Even with the negatives its still a great deal and pretty darn stylish to boot.

Mmmmmm avacado!

Welcomes to Sierra's Registry! I started this blog after a few friends requested a list of what to and what not to put on their baby registries based on my experience with my 7 month old cocoa bean, Sierra.  My husband and I wanted minimal toys and equipment filling up out house and for the most part we have been successful in doing that, but we've had to acquire a few things along the way for her enjoyment.   Sierra and I will make our recommendations to you based on what we bought for her as to if you should buy it, skip it, or buy it used.

Here's my little Sierra! Isn't she delicious!
